At prevcheck.ch, you answer around 40 multiple-choice questions about your lifestyle, previous illnesses, family risks and basic information such as age and gender. The questionnaire is non-binding. If you decide to go ahead with PrevCheck, you book and pay online and receive a code for the measurements at the pharmacy. You do not necessarily have to be fasting, but it is recommended as food can affect triglyceride levels.

At the appointment, blood is taken from your finger and analysed on site (approx. 5–12 minutes). Long-term blood sugar (HbA1c) and lipid profile (triglycerides, HDL, LDL and total cholesterol) are determined. Blood pressure and weight are also measured.

Based on your information and measurements, a personal health report is created with:
An overview of nutrition, exercise, family history and addictive behaviour
Laboratory results including explanations
Risk scores for cardiovascular disease and diabetes
Lifestyle and preventive care recommendations (based on EviPrev)

Your pharmacist will discuss the results with you and answer any questions you may have. You should allow 30–45 minutes for the appointment.
