Cystitis check
An active sex life, exposure to cold temperatures, wearing a wet swimsuit, as well as stress and fatigue, can all contribute to the development of a urinary tract infection (UTI). Our Urinary Tract Infection Check helps determine whether a bacterial infection may be present.
The test is carried out in a discreet and relaxed environment. We assess your symptoms, analyse your urine sample and explain the available treatment options. You will also receive practical advice on prevention and aftercare.
How to help prevent a urinary tract infection:
- Avoid chilling the lower abdomen: Exposure to cold can weaken the body's natural defences, as blood vessels in the skin and mucous membranes constrict.
- Take care after sexual intercourse: We recommend emptying your bladder within 15 minutes after intercourse to help flush out bacteria.
- Avoid excessive use of cleansing soaps and deodorants in the intimate area: These products can disrupt the vagina's naturally acidic environment. Protect your natural barrier by using only suitable intimate hygiene products.
- Choose contraceptive methods carefully: Spermicidal diaphragms, vaginal suppositories, creams and gels may affect the vagina's protective natural balance.
- Natural products are available that can help restore and maintain the vagina's acidic environment and may support prevention.
